Welcome!

Our monthly events are open to the public to women over 18. To find out what to expect, click here. For event dates, click here. There will be a raffle at the end of ritual, so bring a few dollars to contribute. No obligations, and all proceeds go to the church.

The purpose of this blog is to display past rituals, and show what to expect when attending our circles. Often we get caught up in planning fun rituals, and we get behind on posting photos. Your patience is appreciated.

Spinners Group Jan – April

Posted by: earthkat   in full moon, Spinners

All Full Moon Fridays are OPEN to women of ages above 13. Meetings are from 7-9pm

From Jan – April we will be having extra fun time from 6:30-7pm for a select group of women (you just have to ask!). The group’s focus is “Creating a Personal Ritual” we are all on a journey, and ritual can make goal setting fun and appeal to other senses rather than the analytical thinking mind. The session will be culminating on a group camping trip in May that will involve solo camping for “a dark night of the soul”. This can be tailored to your personal comfort level and is purely voluntary.

Join us on Jan 14th for this event (yes, it’s a week prior to the Friday closest to the full moon.)

Bright Blessings = ^ . . ^ =

December – Long Night Moon

Posted by: earthkat   in full moon, song, winter

– smudge, walk in signing “Bring Back the Light”

– cast circle

-cast quarters

– The month containing the Long Night Moon also has the longest night of the year.  The message of the season is that on the longest, coldest day of the year can be the warmest and brightest by spending time with the ones you love. This is a time of staying indoors and spending time with friends and family.  This is the time people sat inside and told stories to each other.  Tarot reading can be done by looking at the cards, using them as visual memory cues, and telling a story.

-check-in (How do you nurture yourself this time of year?)

-tea/cocoa break

-Tarot Scrap Book

– Pass “gift” tarot cards with crib sheet on the back.  Create a story by going around in the circle and say a sentence or two of a story.  Use the card you drew as inspiration, and add to the person previous story line.  Do not just describe your card.

The Fool’s Journey Story (Read  by Aurora  Lightbringer)

– Break into groups and do quick reading using Tarot crib sheets (didn’t have enough time for this).

Recommended decks: Robin Wood Tarot, Tarot of the Cat People,

Tarot Tutorial Websites: Aeclectic.net, Joan Bunning’s Learn the Tarot

Songs:

The tarot scrapbook that was read like a story book can be found in our Members Resource

Every year near Oct. 31st, Full Circle, a spiritual practice group at the UU church of Annapolis, marks the turning of the year and honor those who have passed away. A canvas labyrinth is set up and used in a walking meditation to remember those who have passed away, and to be mindful of things that need to be released from ones life.  At the center candles are lit to  to honor those who have passed.  As participants walk out following the labyrinth, they meditated on letting in new things into their lives for the new year.  Below are photos of the altars that participants set up prior to the ritual.  The individual altars have photos and objects of friends and family that have passed away

Sept Moon – Harvest Moon

Posted by: earthkat   in fall, full moon
