Storytellers is a program that is part of Full Circle at the UUCA church in MD. Full Circle is an earth-centered spirituality program, started in 1996. It has several components: women’s Full Moon Circles, Spinners, Weavers, StoryTellers and Sun Circles for men, women, and youth. Full Circle is a chapter of CUUPs, the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans.
“Storytellers” (in the Native American sense) is a group for couples only. It is a monthly closed meeting for couples designed to create fellowship, discussion and connection to nature.
We are not a virtual group, meaning, we meet in person on a monthly basis. Any committed couple, married or unmarried; gay or straight is invited to join. If you would like to join this group please contact Susi Conley, to find out when the next open session will be starting.
Susi & Rob currently facilitate the group. We have an “open” meeting twice a year in January & August; then those who commit to StoryTellers meet for 4 months on the 3rd Sunday of the month. In the past year we met at our home and have decided to continue to meet here or other couples’ homes in the group if they would like.
The Earth-based Spirituality part means we open and close our meetings with calling the quarters (East/Air; South/Fire; West/Water; North/Earth and Center/Spirit/God/Goddess) and do a check in. Then we pick topics or stories about ourselves to tell as a couple. In the past we our topics or “Stories” have been about how we met; trips we have taken; extended family issues; our spiritual path; etc.
Storytellers will be a closed group for the 4 months from February – May 2015. After this first “open” meeting the group will meet monthly from 7 – 8:30 pm on the following dates:
Sunday February 15th
Sunday March 15th
Sunday April 19th
Sunday May 17th
Our “open to all couples” exploratory/introductory meeting will be Sunday January 25th from 7 – 8:30 pm at Rob & Susi’s home in Annapolis. For more directions & information please contact Susi by email. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
Above you are the stars
below you are the stones
as time does pass, Remember
Like a star should your love be constant
Like a stone should your love be firm
Be close, but not too close
Posses one another, but be understanding
Have patience each with the other
For storms will come, but they will go quickly
Be free in the giving of affection and warmth
Make love often, and be sensuous with one another
Have no fear and let not the ways or words
of the unenlightened give you unease
For the Goddess and the God are with you,
Now and Always.
