Full Circle will be holding training for women interested in joining the Full Moon planning committee (Full Circle Weavers). The prerequisite to join is attending Full Circle Spinners workshops. These workshops will teach how to plan rituals and practice energy work. All interested women should check our website fullcircleuuca.org for dates and details. You must RSVP prior to attending by contacting Kay. Click on “Read the rest of the entry” below for more details.
The Spinner meetings are for women only (Men, we’re planning a co-ed group to start in August. Contact us if you are interested in learning more). Spinners will meet for 3 months from 7-9pm on the half moon (after full moon) and 3 months from 8-9 pm on the new moon. Participants are expected to attend 4 out of the 6 moons, and to attend as many Full Moons as possible. We are looking for woman who are: creative, responsible, willing to lead ritual (with support), and who will work in a shared leadership environment. Although New Moons can be social, it’s main mission is to plan full moons. The first 3 workshops will be planning rituals, and energy work in groups. The last three will be working with Weavers for the last half of the new moon meeting.
Spinner dates are: 2/22, 3/23, 4/22,
new moon: 4/29, 5/28, 6/27
Weavers individual commitment is :
To come to all meetings possible,
To be on time,
When I am here, to “Be” here
To be open and non-judgmental
To Research, organize, and lead
To Venture to the limits of my comfort zone
To be honest and ask questions
To Participate and contribute.
Weaver’s mission statement is:
Weavers is a component of Full Circle and can be thought of as the program’s steering committee. We are a closed group who meet on new moons to plan public rituals. Weavers is an opportunity for these women to delve into their souls, and find their voices, explore and release their own power. A main goal for Weavers is to empower strong women to enjoy power with—rather than over—other women and to develop ways to create welcoming, safe, and sacred space for all ritual: personal, public and private. Weavers is a diverse group coming from several faith traditions both in- and outside of pagan/earth-based spirituality. A non-hierarchical group, all members take on leadership roles. The group opens periodically to welcome new members.
Full Circle’s mission statement is:
Full Circle, a program of UUCA, provides a safe and nurturing space for women, men and youth to explore and practice earth-centered spirituality through rituals, classes, projects, and events. The purposes of our rituals are to: celebrate the full moon and seasons, connect with the church and community, to respectfully learn about other traditions, and most of all to have fun.
The program is based on the 7th principle (Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.) and 6th source (Spiritual teachings of earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature.) of UU beliefs. Rituals are eclectic and are often drawn from folk lore, Native American and European traditions, paganism and Wicca and our own imaginations. Also we support the 3rd principle (Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth) by providing a safe and nurturing space to pursue any spiritual path and personal growth.
